Valerie Danenberg Diamonds: How to find the ideal diamond?
Our diamonds are carefully selected by Valérie Danenberg, a gemological expert, with a minimum color of G and SI clarity, featuring inclusions that are invisible to the naked eye.
They are all certified by the GIA (Gemological Institute of America), the best laboratory in the world. They are laser-inscribed on the girdle with their certificate number. All of them come directly from the international diamond exchange and are purchased without intermediaries. Prices depend on availability and fluctuations in the diamond market. Furthermore, they are Kimberley Process certified: they are mined in compliance with ethical conditions, not contributing to fueling conflicts around the world.
How to choose a diamond?
Selecting a diamond can turn out to be complicated when you do not know the important criteria to take into account. In order to help you select the ideal diamond for your future creation, we advise you to look into the “4Cs”, or the characteristics defining the quality of a diamond, which are:
- The carat The carat is the international unit of measurement for diamonds. It corresponds to 0.32 grams per carat. The weight of the diamond is one of the determining factors because its price increases according to its weight.
- Clarity The purity of a diamond is determined by the nature, location, and number of inclusions present in the stone. These inclusions are either tiny crystals (white) or carbon (black), which is the main chemical element that makes up the diamond.
- The color The color of the diamond is determined by the expert human eye, relative to comparison standards under very specific laboratory conditions. It ranges from D (the most colorless) to Z (the most tinted).
- The cup The ideal diamond cut aims to optimize the refraction of light within its facets to achieve optimal brilliance. It is graded on 3 criteria (cut, polish, and symmetry) ranging from Poor to Excellent.

The champagne diamond: An alternative to the white diamond
The champagne diamond is a subtle shade of warm colors with more understated reflections than the white diamond. It pairs perfectly with rose gold to create a radiant tone-on-tone effect. It is also very striking on white gold because the contrast is more pronounced.
These diamonds are selected by Valérie in particular for their beautiful «champagne» color in VS (very small inclusions) but are not accompanied by a laboratory certificate. The champagne diamond is not graded according to the «4Cs» like white diamonds.
