The “AAA” gemstone classification
Therefore, it is difficult to give an «AAA» rating and compare an emerald with a tanzanite. An «AAA» emerald will feature inclusions but will have a very beautiful color and a very good cut, which are signs of exceptional quality. An «AAA» tanzanite, on the other hand, will be completely eye-clean (and will also have a superb color and a perfectly executed cut). An «AAA» classification is not a guarantee of an eye-clean stone: that will depend on the nature of the stone.
